Brian Boitano is a professional American skater from Sunnyvale, California. He won the gold medal in the 1988 Winter Olympic. He has also won the World Champions and U.S. National Championship twice. He became a professional skater following 1988 season. He has some appearance on TV shows and the film too. He was formally placed into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame and the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1996.

In December 2013, he publicly confirmed that he is gay. In the same year, he also accepted to join the U.S. delegation for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. He is the third gay American athlete.                                   

" I am many things: a son, a brother, and uncle, a friend, an athlete, a cook, an author, and being gay is just one part of who I am", said Brian Boitano.

Regarding his health, he went for a normal check-up but he was diagnosed with the beginning phase an of a brain tumor. He has survived cancer in ’97. But after seven years later he was diagnosed with a pituitary brain tumor. He hasn’t been involved in any affairs till now. He hasn’t spoken anything about his girlfriend or wife. He does not have any children. So he is probably not married and is willing to live a life as a gay.

Brian Boitano Career and Progression

Boitano got his first international attention by winning the bronze medal at the 1978 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. When he was 14, he became the U.

U.S. Junior Men’s Champion and when he was 19, he was the first skater to perform all six different triple jumps in a World Championship. He scored 5ith position during 1981 Olympic, which was his first Olympic ever. In the 1988s Olympic, he won the gold medal for the first time in his career. In 1982, he won the Skate Canada Championship. In 1984, he won the  United States Figure Skating Championships which was his the first of his four titles. He has won NKH trophy in 1986 after scoring the third position in a previous year. In the year 1993, he returned back and competed in the Winter Olympic (1994). He secured the sixth position. He has competed eight consecutive times for US Championship, where he won four consecutive years (1984-88). He scored the second position in 1989.
